Nokia has announced the deal for the purchase of its French rival Alcatel-Lucent to 15.6 billion euros.
After this agreement, Alcatel-Lucent shareholders will have 33.5% stake in the new company, while shareholders of Nokia will be 66.5%.
This merger will make the new company values go over 40 billion euros.
"I think that is the right deal at the right time and the right logic," said Rajeev Suri, chief executive of Nokia.
